I got this for my 9-year-old daughter because she loves to draw, and she really enjoys it. My 5 and 7 year olds have been really into art for kids hub drawing tutorials lately so I thought the picture sprouts could help expand their interest. Both of them loved it so much more than I expected. I copied the starter lines onto other paper so three of us could work on the same prompt lines at the same time. They had so much fun getting creative and were delighted to see we all came up with different ideas.\n\nThe crayons are somewhere between a gel crayon and a crayola crayon. They have decent pigment and the retractable function is nice. So far, none of the crayons have broken which is really saying something about the quality.

Really love the idea of this book! It comes with 50 different pages with a different shape on them and the kids are encouraged to make whatever picture they want using that shape. This is a really great way to get kids using their creativity and imagination. The twistable crayons that come in the pack are of a nice quality as well. This is a super easy to use activity for on the go or even art class if you're a homeschooler like us. Overall great value for an activity set.

We really liked this kit -- it was a ton of fun. I'd absolutely consider it as a gift item to the kids on our list.\n\nSome points:\n*The kit is intended to be used together BUT the drawing pad is secured by velcro so it can be removed.\n*The crayons are retractable!!! For drawing, I'd say they are just okay -- they definitely do the job but the plastic container on the inside is a little flimsy.\n*The pad itself is really nice. The paper is perforated so that it can be removed for displaying and/or if you are splitting the between kids. I like the size as well -- it's a fun achievable size to fill without feeling overwhelming.\n*The shapes are simple -- but I think it's a good doorway to creativity. The kids can choose to draw something more traditional or go crazy!\n\nWe are absolutely looking at the other Skillmatics kits as well!

This is a super fun activity book and our 4 year old niece really is enjoying it.\n\nThe ages stated are 5-10. I think a 10 year old might be a little bored but definitely recommend this for your average kiddo, say ages 4-8.\n\nThe book is very well made and perfect for taking on vacation, for car travel, and for overnights to the grand parents house.\n\nThe pages are basically starter-pages .... there's a shape and your kiddo takes it from there ... is it a truck, is it a building, etc. This book really engages the imagination and helps your child think beyond what is simply on the page in front of them. Coloring books are great, but this is an activity based book ... your child will be engaged with each page.\n\nThe included retractable crayons are a nice touch and the kit goes together well.\n\nWhen first playing with this book - you might have to guide your little one a bit, but that's to be expected. We really think this is a great, engaging book.

This kit is great for bringing out kids' creativity. My 5 year old and I did this together, and it was really fun getting to see what we could bring to life from the prompts. It kept him engaged and gave us a nice activity to sit down and do side by side. Good quality kit overall and a fun way to encourage some creative thinking.
